Christmas baptism ideas

Creating an event inspired by the Nutcracker ballet means one thing: magic. We love designing events on Christmas season because everything is so much more alive. Furthermore, when we decided to build a night inspired by the infamous Christmas Suite of Tchaikovsky we were really pumped and ready to make something truly magical! All in all, the baptism ideas kept on flowing and we loved every second of planning this christening.

THE CONCEPT

The story of “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” is written in 1816 by German author E. T. A. Hoffmann, and follows young Clara Stahlbaum’s favorite Christmas toy, the Nutcracker. After coming alive and defeating the evil Mouse King in battle, the Nutcracker whisks her away to a magical kingdom populated by dolls. In 1892, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov turned Alexandre Dumas’s adaptation of the story into the ballet «The Nutcracke3r».

Furthermore, we wanted to incorporate all these elements in our event and create a fairytale-like atmosphere. Also, we love unique baptism ideas! Starting with the perfect invitation, we used the three main characters of the ballet, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker, and Clara, with snowflakes in ice blue, white and gold. Perfection!

THE DECOR

We wanted the snow and the glittering ice to be the main focus. Moreover, we chose hanging decorations for the venue, with snowflakes, slow pellets and candy canes in gold and white. Also, we wanted our guests to have a photo booth wall. So, we used flurries, stars, and snowflakes along with fairy lights and Erica’s name in gold- foiled balloons!

Our art de la table was glorious! All the décor was in gold, pink, white and light blue and shimmered all night long. Moreover, we used glittering snow, glitter, small snowflakes and a lot of candles to warm up the atmosphere and make our tables sparkle.

For one of our best baptism ideas, we used figurines of nutcrackers and ballerinas to make everything magical! Also, we had custom made placemats to match the invitations and flower arrangements with Christmas greenery, hypericum berries, and pampas grass. The true star of our table setting was the custom-made baptism favor. Inside a pale pink box, there was a Christmas bauble made of glass, filled with snow and our little one’s name in gold calligraphy. On the boxes, there were the three main characters of the Nutcracker’s story with the three more important Christmas Wishes; joy, love, and happiness!

THE DESSERT TABLE

Our favorite part is always the candy bars! Therefore, for little Erica’s Nutcracker inspired baptism, we wanted a grand dessert stand to remind us of Sugar Plum Fairy’s castle. Furthermore, we chose butter cookies shaped like ballet shoes, snowflakes, and cute nutcrackers. They were true pieces of art! Also, we chose French macarons, tartelettes, and cupcakes decorated with snow crystals and glitter, delicious chocolate donuts. Plus, the lollipops, the almonds covered in pink sugar, the marshmallows, and the meringues were mouthwatering! Truly the best baptism ideas! Additionally, to give a feeling of hominess and family warmth, we chose traditional Greek Christmas treats. We used melomakarona ( spiced honey covered cookies with nuts) and kourampiedes ( traditional and delicate butter cookies with almonds, covered in powdered sugar) prepared by Erica’s sweet grandmother. Delicious! Plus, our guests were thrilled with the mouse-shaped cake pops and the glorious cake with the macarons!

We loved curating this event because it highlighted the magic of Christmas! The dozens of little candles and the snowflakes made us dream of ballerinas, nutcrackers, and toys. Our team loved all these beautiful baptism ideas we created for Erica! We wish this beautiful family all the best and, sincerely, the three wishes of Christmas; joy, love, and happiness!
